What is Thai Tails?

The Definitive Guide for Expat Dog and Cat Owners in Thailand.

Thai Tails is an information site written by animal lovers for animal lovers.

A meeting place for expat pet owners living in Thailand who can contribute their articles, stories and photos for the enjoyment and reference of other like minded souls.

Adopt a dog, pet health, behaviour, and relocation advice; details of boarding kennels, vets and pet friendly hotels in Thailand, breed information; you’ll find it all on this site. Enjoy reading other visitors ‘tails’ and experiences.

Whilst there is a wealth of information regarding the relocation and settlement of pets in Europe and North America, there is very little to assist the expat dog or cat owner in this part of the world.

From your contributions we can also expand to include pet details in other areas of Asia – Malaysia, Vietnam, China, Taiwan etc and include special features on areas of Thailand  written by Expats.

Send us your pet profiles, write an info article, review or funny ‘tail’, or send us a directory entry or review a product or service. Alternatively , write a feature about the town or city where you live.

All contributions are subject to our terms and conditions and copyright of the article is still yours. Help us to help you by building up an extensive database of information for our readers.

We aim to provide exposure for local animal charities and rescue centers who will benefit from the traffic coming through this site. Their managers and helpers do an incredible job in saving strays and caring for sick and injured animals; against all odds and under great financial pressure. We thank them for their efforts, many of which go unrecognized and unrewarded.

A special mention goes to our friends at the Hua Hin Dog Rescue Center, for all the personal sacrifices they have made in order to keep the operation running. If we can help raise charity profiles in some small way then the time and money invested in making this site has been worthwhile. If you are thinking about getting a dog or cat then please consider adopting  one from your local animal shelter. In the words of the Soi Dog FoundationSaving a dog doesn’t change the world, but it changes the world for that dog.”

In short, the main purpose of Thai Tails is to support local voluntary organizations and to provide information about caring for your pet abroad. New articles and information will be added on a weekly basis so please keep checking this site for regular updates.  Thank you for taking time out to visit Thai Tails and for your support.
